The 2023 Minhang Technology Festival opens, with over 170 activities waiting for you.

2023-05-24

Nowadays, how smart can your life be? At the opening ceremony of the 2023 Minhang Science and Technology Festival held on May 23, a number of new technologies and products closely related to people's daily lives were on display, including smart pets from local tech companies, unmanned supermarkets, smart education, and AI exhibit activation. These exhibits showcased, from a familiar everyday perspective, how technological innovation is transforming urban life.

In February this year, the Shanghai Municipal Government officially released the "Plan for Promoting the Construction of the 'Big Zero Bay' Science and Technology Innovation Source Function Area." Taking the opportunity of building the 'Big Zero Bay' innovation source area, this year's Minhang Science and Technology Festival will revolve around the theme "Science and Innovation Source, Smart Future," launching activities that empower industrial life and urban development through technological innovation, and gathering innovative intelligence to drive a new pattern of development. Looking ahead, frontier technologies such as AI, synthetic biology, and translational medicine will undoubtedly empower the further progress of the 'Big Zero Bay.'

At the opening ceremony, 12 Minhang district-level innovation and research centers for 2022, 8 companies selected for the second batch of the 'Zhangjiang Star' cultivation program, and 11 "Top 100 Science and Technology Innovation Star" enterprises were awarded honorary plaques to encourage tech companies to strengthen independent innovation, continuously enhance their hard tech capabilities, and make new contributions to the economic and social development of Minhang.

On-site, the Minhang Sci-tech IP image 3.0 version was officially released, featuring an image highly expressive of science popularization culture. It is reported that the District Political Consultative Conference, the District Science and Technology Association, and Hotdog jointly issued a limited edition charity digital blind box—"Minmin Blind Box"—to care for children with autism. They gifted 100 sets of the Minhang Sci-tech IP digital blind boxes to families with "children of the stars," each containing a random digital blind box featuring one of four characters: "Maqiao Hand Lion Dance," "Aerospace Pilot," "Subway Train Operator," or "Big Zero Bay Maker."

Children can use the digital blind box to gain free access for two years to 10 science education bases including the Shanghai Aerospace Science Popularization Center, the Shanghai Metro Museum, and the Shanghai Jiao Tong University Biogenetic Science Popularization Base. The hope is that through the appeal of science popularization culture, they can accompany the "children of the stars" out of loneliness.
